ABOUT
Justin Lam is a 2D animator based in New York City and a recent graduate of School of Visual Arts (BFA Animation 2025). He specializes in FX animation and enjoys visualizing abstract concepts that utilize perspective & camera movement. He is fascinated by mind-boggling transitions and the experimental aesthetic, both of which can be seen in his work!
He began in the illustrative world of fine arts, and then ventured into graphic design & architecture. In the end, he decided to enter the realm of animation because it was a medium that allowed him to intertwine aspects of these disciplines. His love and attention to detail especially remained prominent, from tracking complex debris to animating ambitious sequences.
Aside from animating, Justin loves to cruise on his longboard as it reminds him of the thrilling adventures he once had outside the city! ッ
